I probably shouldn't be reading this as 'how to start a political party in these hard times and become a millionaire and get to kill off... oh, I don't know, clowns or something'.

Seriously, history is one hell of a how-to guide.

It's also a hell of a 'how not to' guide- I'm reading a new history of the Thirty Years' War at present- still recognised as Europe's bloodiest ever war (and that includes the European aspect of WW2!)

So many political mistakes..........
