Heh

Just recieved a message from 'Outrage!' the GLBT group I'm a part of. It's about a website where a lot of daft Christains try and ban Gay Pride. You can find that pile of amusing garbage here. It's worth a read if you like to mock the stupidity of certain members of the human race.

I sent them an e-mail, I couldn't help it. It's not insulting (I'm not that daft and they wouldn't care anyway), it just asks a simple question. You see, in the site they rant on about the sins of 'sodomites'. Now, unless I am very much mistaken, sodomy is defined as anal intercourse (and I would be very much mistaken, as I've written about so much). So sent them an e-mail politely asking why they should want to ban the parade when that'll be ruining a lovely day out for Lesbians and Trangender people, both of whom do not neccessarily have anal sex (this being physically impossible for Lesbians, unless they have a strap-on, that is).

I'd like to see what they'll say. It wasn't rude, so I can't see why they'd insult me.

Dragonlance, Jedi and stamping out homophobia

FF.net being a pain, as always. The story upload is just as tempremental as ever. It took me the better part of five minutes to upload chapter 5 of Engraven. That little fic is finally finished and everything is primed for uploading 'Raistlin's Daughter'. I just hope I get more reviews than I did for the last chapter.

Job was exhausting, I'm not used to working until midnight, although the boss was nice and when she saw I was dropping and that there wasn't much more I could do to help (it would be just waiting until everyone left and then clearing up, and the clearing up bit I could learn tomorrow). I'll be going down there around six and it'll be a bit better since I won't have been on my feet for the previous few hours prior to that. Also, things are genrally quieter on Sundays and they close earlier too, so I might have some energy to spare when I go home.

Jedi Dave (the bloke I met at the Pride march) gave me an Interenet address for comparative lightsaber shopping, what can I say? Check it out here: www.fortress.uk.com

I've got to get myself one of those!

There was a great activity at the march yesterday, it was called 'Stamping out homophobia'. There was a big stretch of cloth on the ground and the idea was to draw around your foot and write down inside the footprint what you thought of the topic. I wrote "Slashers against homophobia!" and signed it "Skull Bearer".

And here's the last chapter of Engraven, Target Practice )

The agony of de feet...

Went to Pride London today. Oof, but my feet are aching. Walked from Park Road to Trafalgar Square and met some very interesting people. People dressed in feathers and leather daddies and trannies with pregnacy suits. Sexy guys in their underwear and lesbians on motorbikes. It was a celebration of sterotypes and individualism and I'm very happy I went, even though my feet are sore.

Also met David the Jedi Knight, a very nice guy dressed in a Jedi robe and wielding the coolest damn lightsaber I ever had the good fortune to lay eyes on. Great guy, quite a show off but then people kept asking him to post for pictures. He was so cool, I wanna be a Jedi.

Pretty damn hilarious running into a Jedi in a gay pride parade when I love Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon slash! Must go riffle up some good fics, I need them.

After we got to Trafalgar Square there was this big stage and a lot of varied people made speeches. Peter Tachell was one of them (he's the guy who runs Outrage! a big gay rights organisation which I'm a part of), and so was Heather, a Male-to-Female transexual who I met at a gathering. Pity Livingstone wasn't there but he was in Sidney (I think it was Sidney, it might have been Singapore. Somewhere on the other side of the world anyway) arguing London's Olympic bid. Be cool if we got it, but I think gay rights are more important.

And Spain legalised Gay marriage! That was so great and everyone cheered when they brought it up. The audience was cheering and booing and shouting and clapping and I think we traumatised the pidgions. They mentioned the civil parnerships act (marrige, gay marrige you homophobic pigs) and said we could do worse than get married at St Micheals (a church within spitting distance of Trafalgar), we all turned to look at the church and saw that the priest and some of the clergy were raising a rainbow flag! The cheering was deafening.

The exertion's not over yet, I got supporting work at a bar yesterday and they need me to turn up tonight because one of the staff is ill/lost/otherwise unavailable. Oh well, at least I'll get some cash and will sleep very well tonight.

Got some work done on 'Masters of the Dark' (the Tramd o' the Dark fic) and an extremely angsty Legends scene. Probably won't have any energy to work on it tonight though.
