Present Tense

Everyone at work is on drugs. I'm the sanest person there, and I'm spending most of my day talking to my characters.

Watching the Twilight fandom go into meltdown from the safe distance of the interwebs.

Can't stop snickering.

What happened in the Twilight fandom? Want to snicker, too...

Seconds that. I have a friend who's into Twilight but all I know is that the latest book came out Friday.

I don't go anywhere near it myself, but there are several people on my friends list who are fans, and now they and and a good portion of their batshit fandom are tearing each other to pieces over the last book. Some think it was amazing, something think it was dreadful. I think the whole thing was shite from the start, but it's fun to watch.

Sounds a lot like the HP fandom when the last book came out. X^DDD Ah, well. I promised my friend I'd read it at some point. Probably won't be until a looong while though.

Pretty much, the only difference being that Harry Potter /used/ to be good. While Twilight has been crap from the get-go.

LOL & seconded... XD
*walks off sparkling*

Sounds like a great place to work. ":-D

Actually, the Twilight fandom thing lost its entertainment value for me after the first two or three amusing sporkings I read.
The thing is, I happen to like urban fantasy occasionally and books like this give the genre a bad name.

To be honest, i know next to nothign about the books. My friend got as far as 'sparkly vampires' before I laughed myself senseless.

You can learn more than you ever wanted from this sporking here. The books must indeed be horrible. (I like the "I didn't think you could make the undead this banal" line.)
*goes back to reading Kim Harrison, who at least has good world building and tons of lesbian subtext along with an actual plot*

It's perfectly normal to talk to your characters; it makes life more interesting.

The only problem is when the Past Tense antagonists come in and start making some very nasty remarks indeed. Then I just get a headache.
