I've just hit 36000 words, only 14000 left to go, and I have nothing to do for the next few days, and can dedicate myself to finishing this damn fic.

I also need to find it a definitive title, Past Tense is good, but I want to look around.

Now, it's no secret that I am a villain fangirl. I always prefer the bad guys, and it's no coincidence mof the three fandoms I work or used to work in, only one of the main characters could be counted as I good guy. However, I like to think I am discriminating int he tastes of what characters I like. I do not, for example, like Fistandantilus, although I really respect Weiss and Hickman for creating him. Likewise, I don't like Kitiara, or the Emperor from Star Wars. It's not that they have no depth or are unredeemably evil, it's just that they're so nasty that I can't see how any sane person could be on their side, they have no moral code whatsoever.

The bad guys I do like tend to have good (and fascinating) reasons as to why they act that way, and while they might not be good, they do have a code they follow (for example, Raistlin would never give up the magic [fuck you DoSF], Dalamar is faithful to the Conclave, and Magneto would never harm another mutant unless he had a damn good reason and/or they were attacking him). I've deliberately left out Voldemort here, since I like him more because he wants to kill a lot of character that I would like to see dead, rather than any real support for his cause.

The thing is, that when I start to really like a character, they can really do no wrong in my eyes. Some of the things I'm going to make Raistlin do later in the series will be despicable, but I love him for it anyway. And if I'm reading X-men comics, I am always on Magneto's side, or at least, I always cheer him on in the fights, and immediately hate with a passion any character who tried to kill him (much in the way I hate Sturm in DL). I even do this in Ultimate X-men, when Magneto is basically a psychopath, although it helps that I pay very little attention to what he says and spend the whole time drooling over how he's drawn *sweatdrop*. Really, the other characters in the comics never stood a chance.

And, of course, this inevitably comes out in my writing. I'm not talking about character assasination on the scale of something like Buffy, but my writing is going to be very biased indeed.

Rambling again.
