I seem to be getting back into Warhammer, with Skaven (which, to those who don't know, are small rat-men with bizarre machines which tend to explode -- Think evil DL gnomes). Fought and orc asnd goblin army yesterday. Highlights were:
- A unit of night goblin's charging my ratling guns, the crew panicked and blew itself up.
- The orc warboss hewing down the best part of my main unit.
- Opening fire into combat and killing as many of my own guys as the enemy's.
- The orc chariot chasing after my rat ogres, runnignt hem down, only to crash into a fanatic (small drugged-up gobling with a ball and chain larger than he was) and blow up.
- Nevertheless still managing to pull off a tactical win.

So, about three years to the day since Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Pince pretty much smashed any love I had for the series, I am slowly coming back to that fandom. Frankly, I did miss it and the world, for all it's flaws, is fascinating. A pity JKR failed to turn out anything that even remotely lived up to its potential.
Anyway, I seem to be coming back to it in a weird, sideways manner that suggests I'm no longer feeling quite as betrayed as the day I put down the sixth book and pretty much cried. This critique is great, and on my ff.net favourites are some absolutely brilliant stories which deconstruct the canon HP universe even while they tell a good story.
