10 - Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?

Not really, I know what I like and tend to stick to it. I'm more on board with the 'realistic pairing' schtick and writing something I'm just not feeling would probably result in a pretty sub-par fic. As for pairings I don't like, why would I want to? I don't have to be writing fanfic, so why would I bother writign about something I don't like. I wander across genres, but pairings are always steady.

11 – Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?

Yep, all together now, ALTERNATE UNIVERSE. Just about every fic I've done that's not a one shot (and a few that are) are AU. I've always enjoyed throwing characters into different positions and seeing how they react, and it's a lot of fun pressing the 'undo' button ont heir personalities and re-running them withsome new twists (I&E, Past Tense, Diaspora) and seeing how the characters end up. I am also a MASSIVE SUCKER for 'grew up together as best friends' fics. I LOVE THESE STORIES. I love seeing what they do to the characters.

Otherwise, I do write a lot of angst, becaue while my characters' love lives might be steady, the world outside really isn't. Horror is pretty bog too, especially in my old HP fics which were either character pieces of Voldemort and the Death eaters or, more close to the end of that damn series, me seeing how many ways I could burn the world to pieces. Not much humour really. X-Men fics tend to be highly historical.
