I really like long documentaries about terminally dry subjects.

Maybe it’s getting to watch too much History channel crap and getting terminally bored of anything big loud and dramatic, especially if presented with an American accent a la the latest blockbuster. So now the only thing that gets my interested is a deep dive into something soft spoken and complicated.

And as for how complicated, I’ve been raving about the BBC’s latest fly on the wall doc about Brexit from the point of view of the European negotiators. I now understand the Irish backstop and why it’s such a trainwreck.

Politics and law and medicine and really anything involving at least four hundred pages of paperwork is really neat.

So yeah, if anyone’s got something suitably complicated and calmly presented, I am 100% interested in recommendations. I will also get into serial killer documentaries as long as the focus is on the police force and the serial killer is just kind of a footnote.

I kind of miss the days when “We’re here, we’re Queer, get used to it” was something we had to say to STRAIGHT people. 

I’m here, I’m queer, and you can go fuck yourself for contributing to the “Queer is a slur” nonsense. My identity is no more of a slur than yours is.

I don’t fit neatly into any of those boxes. I’m queer. Cope.

$0, our history, a lot of people’s identity, and the safety of trans women who know exactly whose koolaid you’re drinking.

Sorry, that’s far too steep a price for my queer trans ass.

It only costs me my lived experience, my personal history over the last three decades since I came out, and most of all, my identity, which is priceless.

So… nothing important to someone chugging that TERF anti-queer koolaid, because TERFs would like nothing better than for the community to become hostile to a bisexual, non-binary butch like me.

I am sorey, maybe I am too ignorant but what the fuck is wrong with people identifying themselves as queer? They’re not labeling anyone else, just themselves. Why does anyone have a problem with that??

The SAY queer is a slur, ignoring that it was reclaimed yonks ago. What they actually mean is that they hate that queer is an all inclusive term when they’re desperately trying to kick out the dirty aces/bis/trans people.
