Nate shifted uncomfortably as the man unleashed a hail of French at him. He never quite knew what to say, not only because he’d doodled his way through every language class he’d been to, but because he could feel the eyes of those thousand scribbled killer robots on him. Too long, they whispered, when will you build us?

Nate met the man’s eyes with undisguised guilt, and wondered if he could borrow someone’s workshop.
