Yes, historical accuracy, fuck you I'm writing goddamn fiction therefor you are OPTIONAL! If I want to write a 1944 winter deportation from Lodz I will. If I want to invent a room in block 11 that wasn't there I will. If I want to write that the SS were given houses to live in I will! I don't even know if the last one isn't the case. Fuck you I'm a writer as much as I am a historian. Mirek and Johannes didn't goddamn exist and this version of Auschwitz is only real in my head and I can do what I like with it and stop faffing over details that fuck the plot over and which people who read it won't even tell the difference. I've only found one book/film/comic/whatever of the Holocaust that was 100% accurate as far as I know and that was Shindler's List and that might as well have been a (very good) docu-drama.
