Well, I'd better get my skates on for 'War Wizardry', because my beta's on a roll! She finished reading through the last of Engraven (I'll post it up soon) and demanded to know why it finished so abruptly.

I told her.

Or rather, I sent her 'Raistlin's Daughter' to beta read. It's the only story where I'm planning to keep the canon name, because in this case it works in perfect irony with the story. It has to be one of the darkest, nastiest bits of work I've ever written, and that's including 'Obedience' (that one was a joke anyway) and 'Do you Feel Brave Now', and that might well be the only time I've managed to outdo myself on that one! Oh well, Miqael tells me it was very effective, and I suppose the reviews will tell, in the end.

Still, what can't be nasty when it's written to the tune of Marilyn Manson's 'Man That You Fear'? And added to while watching the music video? *shudder* That video gives me the creeps, except for the moment when Manson falls over and is helped up by that pretty girl, and he whispers the lines "Someone had to go this far". Ugh, clich'ed anyone?

The ending gave me the cold shakes though.

Funny, that's how I'd describe my 'Raistlin's Daughter' fic, slightly clich'ed near the middle, but with an ending that gave you the cold shakes.

Only without Manson's great singing voice though. ;)
