Royal Holloway, attempt #2

Found my course at last. Under Modern Languages. Would have asked what Holocaust Studies was doing there, but apparently Primo Levi made his point. Student database was operating at a completely retarded speed and confusion that had me screaming "THIS CALLS FOR JUDICIAL APPLICATION OF THE ARROGANT WORMS!" That band has traditionally been my 'uni idiocy keep-sane refuge'.
Paid my fees, which were kina more expensive than first thought. That part went okay. It still hasn't registered that I've paid them, BUT OKAY. Could have been worse.
Opened my Uni file where I keep my passwords and stuff (I have a shite memory for passwords) deleted my Middlesex account and pasted my new account in *sniff* that was kinda moving. I'm really going. It's been three years and I'm finally going to Royal Holloway. Please don't let me fuck this up.
Nearly had a heart attack when I saw the identity check was the 18th. Then I saw it was September *headdesk*. Then I saw the course start date was the 19th. ONE MONTH I DON'T KNOW IF I'M MORE SCARED OR EXCITED.
I'm actually going rubbing shoulders with people who are going to get my references. I'll finally find out why people actually go out of their way to study this subject of ultimate depressingness (a case study of one doesn't get you far). I have to say, the thought of meeting fellow Holocaust students is pretty damn sweet. I wonder if they've read the books I have, or if they've been to the camps as well? Will they crack sick jokes as well or am I going to be biting my tongue all the time? Will they join me over ranting about Goldhagen or are there going to be fistfights over the level of fail inherent in HWE? What's the gender demographic going to be like?
At least with this it's likely going to be more fun that Middlesex 'totally silent classroom' Creative Writing. I mean, unlike BAs, you don't need an MA to get a job picking up rubbish. So the people here are going to be doing this not because they want a degree but because they really, really want to study this subject.
Maybe I'll walk into the classroom and find it full of six-tongued slugs from Venus because apart from yours truly I've never IRL met another Holocaust student. Gets lonely sometimes.
