There are references in the song to toxic masculinity (non-Republican men were called f******s), media black-outs, “free speech zones”, hating the French (really really hating the French - “freedom fries” anyone?), and the glorification of ignorance. I’m not saying W is the same as Trump, but I am saying this may be a good time to pop in this album and other mid-2000s protest music because it will probably speak deeply to you.
