A pastafarian was suspended from school for coming in wearing full pirate regalia. His religion, that of the flying spaghetti monster, proclaims that all its members should dress as pirates at all times, and not doing so is a breach of the religion. The school didn't see it that way and suspended him. He said they weren't suspending students who refused to take off their crucifixes. I see his point.

I read this, too. I researched it a little bit, and found out the the main "Prophet" of the Pastafarians had written the Kansas School Board (where I am from) telling them that he demanded the teachings of the Flying Spaghetti Monster be included in the "Intelligent Design" curriculum. I was very pleased to discover this.

I loved that bit. It's also used by atheists to say 'well no, we /can't/ disprove the existance of god, but /you/ can't disprove the existance of the Flying Spaghetti Monster either.
