Can someone who’s been on tumblr for the last year catch me up on the anti vs anti anti discourse? Particularly with any insight into why ‘maybe don’t draw rape survivors being raped’ would be considered a controversial position?
Clarifying edit for people seeing this from the tags, the survivor is the actor not the character, and the alternative is using the depiction from the comics instead of the movie. I am not advocating the erasure of dub-con / non-con content.
Basically there are a shit-ton of prats going around leveraging social justice issues as a weapon in ship and fandom wars. It’s gotten to the point where even Ao3 has been dragged through the mud for allowing underage, incest, dub con, etc, and people have been bullied off their blogs for completely harmless fic.
It’s dumb as shit and it’s made a lot of people have knee-jerk reactions against anything that isn’t ‘ship and let ship’.
