Venom doesn’t fully understand what cute means until he watches Eddie sleep a couple times. Like at first it’s really boring and lonely and kinda gross how he snores and drools but very very quickly it becomes endearing
He gives his cheek a soft little lick and watches his eyes flutter under his eyelids in REM sleep
and just snuggles up with him and vibrates a little
just cuddles
“eddie is cute.”
……..
“eddie is mine and eddie is home and eddie is safe and eddie is warm and eddie is resting and eddie feels calm and all of those things make me feel the same”
“i am glad I have eddie and if I had to go back to my old life i’d probably try and figure out how to get somebody to eat me or get close enough to leap into a star”
“eddie eddie eddie eddie”
“eddie makes me feel wonderful and whole.”
“… but i can’t tell him that, I’m supposed to be a big scary alien and assert my dominace (i still haven’t grown out of this way of thinking yet because it has been drilled into me since my spawning)”
“want to be soft with eddie…. will he let me? don’t know. Keep licking his cheek”
Maybe Venom doesn’t say very many soft things to eddie, but he does soft things because he just… he doesn’t know how to communicate softly
He only knows how to not be aggressive
