teapotsahoy:
odditycollector:
A fun game to play after watching the Venom movie is to figure out what media each of the characters probably thought they were in instead.
Dr. Dan:
Grey’s Anatomy episode, but he is the only one who’s noticed that one of the guest stars has been inexplicably cast as a slimy monster goo. So it’s like…
His hot new gf’s famous(ish) ex bf who he is personally responsible for doctoring due to a string of dramatic events, to HIS new SO: How dare you betray me like this! We’re OVER!
Dr. Dan: WHAT THE FUCK!
His hot new gf, who had been running after her distraught and lit. heartbroken ex: No, this isn’t what it looks like! I’m not running after him because I want him back, but we’re still friends and–
Dr. Dan: DUDE SERIOUSLY THAT ISN’T THE PROBLEM HERE.
Anne:
…a much higher rated film where repeatedly Asserting your Dominance over the alien vore monster threatening your menfolk (and then it gets a crush on you and lends you its power for a while and you’re Into That?) drives the story hard into the center of a very complicated kink Venn Diagram.
Carlton Drake:
LARP of Elon Musk’s twitter feed
Mrs. Chen:
Supernatural revenge horror. Like, did you SEE her expression when Venom ate that dude? That was obv. a summoning gone RIGHT.
Riot :Malaysian slow travel documentary and exotic food tour
Eddie Brock:
Venom (2018)
Dr. Skirth:
Venom (2018)… except she was set up to be the main star.
And Venom’s in some kind of Eat Pray Love where he’s kinda bummed out and nothing is good but then he goes to an exotic new place, and gets a hot new love interest and suddenly!
I love the idea that Ms Chen has been trying to summon up a demon to sort out her gangster problem, and it… may just have worked.
