As if! Of course I'd /prefer/ a new I&E chapter, but seeing as there was one last week, I can hardly go and demand another, can I? Past Tense is fine, too. And if I had a clue about "House", I'd read that, too, unfortunately I rarely ever watch TV, especially not that late, and I really do not need another fandom at the moment.
I think anyone who likes Dragonlance would like House. The title character is a lot like Raistlin; very snarky, very bitter and very cool. Also, most storyarcs only span a single episode, so you can join in the middle of a series and still get what's going on.
What's wrong with your interweb? Anything a semi-techi can help with.
And just when I was going to start picking your brains for this pwp too ^_^ I realised writing a ficlet set at the point where the companions are in Thorbardin is going to be a bit hard since I don't own Dragons of Dwarven Depths and I only own Dragons of Winter Night in comic book format :S
You are writing PWP? *squees hopefully* Thanks to Skull Bearer's book shop tour, /I/ own a copy of Winter Night (though sadly not Dwarven Depths), so maybe I can help?
Just would like to know what Thorbardin looks like from the outside, and the road up to it. Basically its gonna start with the companions returning to Throbardin with the Hammer of Kharas or whatever it was called, and getting chucked in the cells by a bunch of suspicious dwarves. Did this happen in canon? I just got the idea from one of skullbearer's 5 things memes (5 places more public than a bedroom where Raistlin and Dalamar had sex - one of the five being '3- In a cell in Thorbardin having been thrown in by suspicious dwarven guards'). In my head it's porny and voyeuristic and I think you two will like it. Which is good cos I'm gonna email it to you and no one else cos I am too embarassed to post it on my LJ where my friends can read it ^_^
Actually, the whole hammer of Kharas thing happened entirely underground, and only really concerned Flint, Tas and another random dwarf. The bit I was thinking of in the five things was just after the companions had gotten into Thorbardin and been arrested by the suspicious dwarves. Thorbardin from outside is a bare mountain in the middle of some scrubland, the way in is hidden.
It's complicated, first Raistlin (and for this fic, Dalamar) Caramon, Tanis, Sturm, Flint and Tasslehoff turn up, than the rest with the refugees several days later (by which point Tas and flint have the hammer and the dwarves are happy to let them in- convinent no?)
Ah riiiiiight. That makes more sense. And as well as being a convenient plot flange (the role-play technical term for any obvious shoehorning into the plot) it also conveniently fits the plot of my PWP. I have a long weekend and two bottles of ginger wine...on with the pr0n!
All I found without rereading the entire book, was the description from the first chapter of Winter Night where Elistan presents the hammer to the dwarves (my I had completely forgotten that), which unfortunately only shows the inside and says nothing about any capture of the companions. (So I guess that was Skull Bearer's. I&E is more canon in my head than the actual canon. *headshakes*) Before that, in Autumn Twilight, they haven't reached Thorbardin yet, as far as I can tell. But if I recall correctly, there are some more detailed ones in Legends when Raistlin is Fistandantilus in the past... *skims through books* Here, in Chapter 11 of WotT, Tas is in some cells. (I hope they're in Thorbardin, not elsewhere, I'm hopelessly confused by now, but there are Dwarves, so the chances are good.) The description isn't remarkable in any way, though. They seem your everyday standard dungeon cells. *shrugs* And I couldn't find any description from the outside. I have a feeling there was one, somewhere, but don't ask me where. But seeing as it is an underground fortress, I guess it looks a lot like a mountain from the outside.
Sorry to be so unhelpful!
But methinks, you should stick to I&E canon and make something up where there's nothing described. ";-D
Hahaha...I just found the said '5 things' meme. There was one question 'Five weird! pairings Skull Bearer can't bring herself to write though she likes the involved individuals'...and one of your answers was Magneto/Professor X. Erm...many thousand words later...^_^
It's also somewhat disturbing that that meme was nearly a year ago and I can still remember it. And also that I have been reading your LJ for over a year. I think I have developed into a fully fledged fangirl :S
Heh, me too! We should start producing I&E merchandise, you know? Porny cocoa cups, Fistandantilus fan pyjamas, Raistlin/Dalamar pillow cases, Rashas-approved aritificial lawn, Sturm Brightblade plushies without heads...
haha...you had to bring up my *favourite* I&E sex scene! Al fresco sex, plus the hilarious reaction when Rashas finds Raistlin and Dalamar in a compromising position on his lawn. ^_^
I hope you get your internet back soon. And to help with your morbid fascination with Nazis, take a look at this story. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6945847.stm
