/Edit10/ Seriously, Frankie rocks. They're fucking with every romantic cliche and I love them for it.

/Edit11/ I mean, they get this girl right, who's the romantic competition, and she is so fucking cool. She's an air pilot too and wears an eye patch and she's the kind of minor character everyone loves and who has a very short life expectancy. So they make it look as though she's going to die, having her ram her auqa-plane into a robot spider to save the main character, only she ejects at the last minute and flies away on a motherfuckin' jet-pack!
