Realising that my university's poetry course is actually teh awesome.
(first year is pretty much non-stop workshopping. We study no forms, we obey no rules, we just write, endlessly. No matter how crap it is, we write. Then, in second year, when we have gotten used to poerty and are getting familiar with the language, we start on forms. This is a new challenge since it had been getting a bit familiar, and it flows in very well. At least, that's how it's worked for me. I think it might be worse for others in the class, but I have very little respect for their poetry skilz so they neither count nor matter)

Finding a shop which sells rejected chocolates from the first class chocolatiers for £1. All perfectly good, just rejected due to being a bit mishappen. Love.

Your poetry course sounds really cool. It seems quite rare to find a good course that teaches creative things. One of my friends was doing an English & Creative Writing degree at JMU in Liverpool and he said it was incredibly wet and arty farty and they didn't learn much at all. He thought his writing was developing most from the stuff he did outside of uni. It's a shame so many courses are like that
