Found a flat, found a new phone, did coursework, and used up all my good luck for the week, did a horrific presentation of AIoM and was yelled at by my teacher who called my story racist and homophobic. Found out from a member of staff that he himself is gay (and possibly Jewish) and probably saw my choice of having a gay nazi as a sympathetic character insulting. I wished I'd known that at the time because I got very flustered an made a spectacle of myself that would have done an unprompted George Dubya proud. Now everyone thinks I'm a homophobic fascist. Which, contrary to what some might think of the last, is not at all the case.
*sigh* Now everyone thinks my story sucks.
As I said, my good luck ran out. At least I have a nice flat and a new phone.

What an awful situation! *hugs*
But you hardly could have picked any more sensitive subject; misinterpretation clearly was a risk there. And it's not like sympathetic nazis are something most people are comfortable, much less happy with. (Hell, I'm not comfortable with it and I've known you and most of your attitudes on homosexuality, racism, etc for a while. It must be worse seen from the outside!)
Still, I guess that's not what you need to hear right now. *hugs you tightly instead*

Well, Nazis aren't exactly the most sympathetic characters in the world to the general population at large anyway, whether they're Jewish or not. You had to expect some shit to be thrown.

But the flat and phone are definitely more important. Congrats!
