The church of Nuggan in the Discworld. Their religion has gone bad on them. We've just had some loony declaring a fatwa against allowing sexes to mix int he workplace, and another declaring jihad against Switzerland. Motherfucking SWITZERLAND! I know a great joke about the Swiss:

Its the middle of the military barracks in Switzerland, bright and early one momrning, when a majorly high-ranking general marches in. Everyone gets up smartly, salutes. The General nods "at ease, at ease."
He turns to everyone in the barracks "Today, we will invade Russia."
There's a mkoments silence and all the soldiers glance at each other, wow, invade Russia...
Then someone at the back pipes up "What will we do in the afternoon?"

Youn might as well declare jihad against the international space station for all the damage this is going to do to it. There are seriosly not enough face-palms.

Fortunately this loss of intelligence has apparently been due to another holy bloke in the UK, who is declaring a fatwa on -wait for it - suicide bombings and terrorism, and none of this wishy-washy "killing innocents is bad (for a given value of 'innocent')" garbage. A lone voice of sanity and about damn well time.

This is going to be rather interesting as I live in a very minority centered area (it's quite nice, one of this ghetto crap, but everyone from everywhere) we don't get much 'normal' crime like handbag snatchings of stabbings, but every so often a road gets cordoned off because some people in a house were planning to blow up the Swiss embassy or something.

Eh......it's ironic that the Fundie Muslims want to destroy the very same states that the Western Left despises, too. Of course their opposition is far more due to the repression in those states being able to squish them than anything in favor of Western-style democracy.

That same dictatorship, however, explains their greater brutality than Western terrorism, as dictatorship can both squish terrorism and prove a fertile soil for repeated recurrences of it.
