Wicker Man

If there's a cooler film, I haven't seen it (okay, I'm exaggerating, but not by much). First time I saw it, it was during Hallowene last year. The thing that drew me was that the good guy died.  Oh yeah, and there was Christopher Lee. Anyway, it was showing later that night and I thought I might watch it, it sounded cool, and there was Christopher Lee in it.

What can I say?

I can't believe Sgt Howie was meant to be a good guy, I mean, the guy was a complete bastard! He was completey horrible to everyone from the start, and if there's something I hate, it's fanatic christians (that fact that he was a policeman didn't help). He just jumped to the idea of human sacrifice just like that! I mean, this was the 70's and he still has the gall to spout on about how 'England is a christian country'. For your informantion, Sgt Howie, all forms of worship were legalised in the 1940s, so stop bugging Lord Summerisle, because he's played by Christopher Lee.

As you can guess, I was cheering by the time he was thrown into the wicker man, although I did spare a moment's regret for the animals. I swear, that guy met all the parameters of a decent human sacrifice, not only the ones mentioned in the film, but also that you would be making the world a better place by barbarcuing the git.

(That's from the satanic bible by the way, although I doubt LaVey ever preformed a human sacrifice.)

Anyway, Sgt Howie was probably a homophobe, and all homophobes should a) be taught the errors of their ways, or b) be torched. As option a) was out... Burn baby burn!

By what I know of magick, Summerisle would have gotten a great harvest that year. ;)

I loved that film, and when I got the chance to watch the director's cut (the film was butchered and half of it was lost, Christopher Lee thinks that there's some kind of comspiracy going on, which can only mean that there is actually a pagan island somewhere in Scotland they don't want us to know about. I want to move there). Anyway, I watched it, loved it, wanted to huggle Christopher Lee (see a pattern emerging here people?), and bounced up and down and laughed decisively when Howie was shut up in the wicker man.

Watch the film, it's great.

And it has Christopher Lee in it.

Skull Bearer.

(And for the record, I am not actually condoning burning homophobes, although Fred Phelps is a tempting candidate... I do however think they should have some sense knocked into them, with a hammer, if possible. The film was fiction and no animals were actually harmed during the shooting of the feature, although I did feel sorry for the actors, half naked in November, poor guys)
