So went this weeks kendo session. Full armor.
Full bloody armor.
Do, kote, men, the full works. And the damn robes which I now /have/ to buy since we'll be using them from now one and I don't want to sweat myself daft in things that don't belong to me.
Not only did we have to get used to wearing the men helmet, which is really heavy, but we had to do it while being hit, which is a first.
My head and wrist hurt, the head was my fault, I shouldn't have ducked and I certainly learnt my lesson, I saw stars, but I swear the kote isn't protection enough, although I should just be glad we weren't using bokan! Although they would never hit us with boken, we'd have broken bones all round if they did.
All in all, a totally, unmistakably brilliant session, and I told the sensei that.
And we have a competition coming up.
