1- Where's Dalamar?
Oh, right.

2- This is pure fanservice, Weiss and Hickman are doing a revert-to-hype here. Someone probably told them, 'Hey guys, these 'Second Gen' stories are just not selling, so write something with lots of Raistlin in it, they'll lap it up.'

3- Suddenly become aware of the differences between my Raistlin and canon Raistlin, very different people now (I like mine better, as this one seems a little OoC, might be because he has more POVs).

4- Fistandantilus! BWHAHAHAH! (sorry, I seemed to have forgotten that he does exist outside my own universe, I suppose that's because he gets more of a look in in my world).

5- This follows straight on after DoAT (I swear, I nearly wrote Crepuscule there), the day after Riverwind and Goldmoon's wedding. A good start so far.

6- Raistlin gets first chapter, Weiss and Hickman- PWNED! We own your souls! As I said, fanservice.

7- Tanis talked with Riverwind and Goldmoon... the last two appear to have developed characters, it's quite scary. *looks around for nuclear waste to explain strange mutation*.

8- This would never happen in my fic, because there would be no way of convincing people that Verminaad came back from the dead. Sturm decapitated him, you don't come back from something like that.

9- On the other hand... I do want to include this in my fic, if only to have Raistlin and Dalamar starting off for Skullcap, having Raistlin try to explain the reason to an increasingly sceptical Dalamar without reveal anything too incrimiating (you try and explaining that without mentioning Fistandantilus, I dare you). And then cover the blazing row that would follow when they realise that Caramon has been following them, and Sturm was following Caramon. Four-way arguments are fun.

10- Tanis is no longer as whiny and a bit more decisive, this makes him the unholy anti-Tanis and about as believable as a lead brick.

11- Tasslehoff is fun, I like Caramon's mention of tying him to a table leg.

12- Caramon is IC, but about twice as annoying as usual.

13- The same goes for Sturm.

14- Raistlin is... Raistlin, only more so.

15- Dalamar is... not here (I keep having to remind myself this).

16- I now feel completely justified with my future horrible treatment of Tika, she's starting to bug me.

17- Still like Laurana though, but please! We're here for the Raistlin fanservice- we know Laurana's pretty, stop harping about it!

18- I loved Fistandantilus possessing Raistlin to write 'Skullcap' all over his spellbook! If this happened to my Raistlin, he would completely freak.

19- Love the draconian interaction in the prologue, sweet, *hugs dracos*.

20- Where was Dalamar again?

I haven't really liked anything I've read besides Chronicles and Legends that much... some are not too bad, but most are. I really don't feel like buying the new books just because Raist is in them. :P Oh well... maybe if I can get them used. New generation is the last one I bought, I think, so there's quite a few in between, probably.

This backtracks to Chronicles, it fits between DoAT and DoWN, showing how the companions got the Hammer of Kharas and so on. It's okay, and well - it's got Raistlin being his snarky self, what more do you want? ;)

By Second Generation stuff, do you mean the stuff with the kids of the original Heroes and such. I kinda like that in a way. I like Palin Majere.

I suppose it matters how far you've read, Palin was okay in Second Gen and DoSF, but in the whole War of Souls he was too irritating for words.

Nevertheless, I am /so/ looking forward to writing him into my story. *evil laugh*

I've currently just started reading Dragons of Summer Flame. One of my friends is a huge Dragonlance fan and I have been borrowing tons of her books. The War of Souls trilogy is next on my list, so don't tell me what happens :) My opinion of Palin mainly based on the Dragonlance Tales stories. I didn't like 'The Legacy' cos I didn't like Raistlin in it. He didn't seem very in character. I like Palin in 'Wanna Bet' tho. Drunk mages are so so funny! Also from what I've currently read of DoSF, he kind of reminds me of my character in a Ravenloft D&D game my friend is running.

Erm...for some reason your evil laugh puts bad images in my head. Why do I have the feeling Palin is gonna get molested :S ^_^

That Raistlin wasn't really Raistlin but an illusionary version of him created by the conclave, and for that I'll let it pass. I tried to read WoS but was so discouraged by what people said and the vile condition of the writing that I never finished it.

Um... no. Although I did read a good Raistlin/Dalamar/Palin fic, but it was in French. However, I am still going to be. Very. Evil. Indeed to Palin. Also, his brothers aren't dying, I like them, and I think they're some of the most wasted character potential since Wiess and Hickman stopped writing about Raistlin.

Arg...having just got up to the bit in Dragons of a Fallen Sun when Palin turns up, I see exactly what you mean. Were they trying to turn him into some sort of poor imitation of Raistlin or something?
