So, Parliament square has been invaded by... hippies. We're talking the original, dreadlocked, tye-dye wearing, love-dovey, huggy-cutie, just-steppd-out-of-a-60s-time-machine hippies. They've sent up a 'millenium village' in front of the Houses of Parliment (to US-ers, that would be like setting up on the White House lawn). Are living in tents, and setting up a little garden in the middle of it. It's cute, it's nice, they're friendly and play music and I totally support them.
But they are just the most sterotypical hippies imaginable.
In the middle of their little garden is a sapling, with a piece of cardboard in front of it "Millenium Village Oak". Unfortunately, while I am a city creature, my mother is an avid gardener and I know something about trees and that really is not an oak.
I love these people really.
So if you are in the central London, come down to Westminster and check out the millenium village. They're lovely folk. And if you can, bring them a real oak.
PS: Please ignore the bunch right in front of the pavement, in particular the guy on the crutches and with the badges on his hat. He might have been protesting the Iraq war since it started, but he's a horrible piece of work and viciously offensive if you so much as say anything to him, same goes with most of them near him, my friend and I went over to say hi and got a nasty shock.
