We'd already edited Mass Effect to give ourselves achievements after the computer ate our last savegame, and you clean forget that and decide to re-do a good 20% of the game for more xp, having deleted your future saves so we wouldn't be 'tempted'. It's like burning your boats and belatedly realising we're on the wrong beach.
Seriously, some days we're just retarded.
At least this bloody game is getting us up close and cuddly with Monolith PC, and we discovered that in fact if Monolith was built by aliens whey had to be vorcha or something because the gits set up the fans so the air goes in through the top aaand out through the top. And our graphics card is at the bottom. Sandwiched against the wireless network card. The graphics card temperature was starting at 70 degrees C and climbing until the poor thing had to shut down or melt. No wonder Mass Effect kept crashing. We took out the network card and the temperature dropped 20 degrees on the spot. Kindly tech-savvy friend who pointed everything out to clueless me has offered me a new case so full of fans I'd be surprised if the poor compuer doesn't start flying by the time we get the power on.
