Cyborg me

So, if you see im in the next few days, you might notice (seeing as it's nice weather and I can afford short sleeves), that I have an absolutely terrific bruise on my left upper arm, around a deep looking puncture mark. So don't worry; I just had an implant in.

It's just one of the new birth control things that last for three years, but I do wonder how long it's going to be before this sort of thing is normal. I wounder if it would be possible to do this for other kinds of medication? Have diabetes? Don't worry about those injections every day, just get an implant that'll last for a year. Same thing with other conditions that require constant medication.

So yeah, cyborg. Still getting over being able to feel the thing inside my arm, very weird.

A friend in the US has a sort of semi implanted device to do her insulin shots, so I guess the answer is yes on that one.

Really? That sounds very interesting! I was just thinking it would be impossible to do for diabetes, because you need to dial in the right amount of insulin for what you just ate...

That's where I think the external part of the device comes in! I'll have to ask Gina how it actually works.
