Wreck-it Ralph

Some times, you just want to go to the cinema. It doesn't matter what's on, you just want to go sit and stare at the big screen and eat snacks. I was like that today, and the best film that suited the time I arrived was Wreck-it Ralph, 3D. I'd heard decent things about the film so I decided 'why not?'
I think, if I had to summarise this film in a word, I'd say 'clever'. It's one of those films that has a dozen moments where something previously mentioned in passing, or thought to be a window dressing, suddenly turns out to be vitally important. Absolutely staple Chekov's gun. Cumulating in several coming together at once for a very epic 'oh shit' moment at the finale.
There are some clever references, some clever puns (the Oreo guards had me in stitches at how absolutely awful and absolutely perfect that joke was). The villian was a very clever move, and actually scary. It had a fun cast of characters, who were all likable in there own ways.
Unfortunately, that's about all I have to say about the film. There were few hugely stand out moments, and while it was a lot of fun, I don't think much will stay with me. It's not a particularly deep movie in terms of messages or themes or characters. It's just silly, clever, good natured fun. I had a good time, but it's not one I'm going to go out and see again now I know the twists. It's nice to see FemShep get her own movie outing, and I couldn't stop grinning when I saw M. Bison (I am a huge fan of the shitty movie), and I liked the 'good' counterpart to Ralph, Felix, who could have been an easy bad guy, but wasn't.
Fun, clever, worth my time. Again, soemthing of a meringue movie. Fun at the time, but little is left but a sweet aftertaste. (I I think this is the only time I've had suger rush by proxy while watching a movie)
Tally for 2013:
Django Unchained (anything that can make me write a 1,000 word essay analysing it has to be worthwhile)
Wreck-it Ralph (Clever and entertaining, and good natured)

Thanks for the review! :D
