I have never been so happy to be wrong.

I was so terrified something might have happened to someone I know, and particularly to my stepfather, Reg Lewis. I was so relieved when he called that it was all I could do to keep from crying. I'm crying now.

It's okay though, Reg's at work a long way from the bomb attacks, mum got to work before the chaos broke out, she's right in the middle of it and I don't know if she'll manage to get home tonight, because the London transport is down. Axel's safe at school and Dad's is, like me, still at home. Rowan will be at school too, and Olga's home and work is over in Finchley Central/East. I still have to check if Jonjo and Azizi are alright, they go to school in Tower Bridge.

Shit! Shit! I've been swearing all morning. If those Al-Kaheda idiots wanted to disrupt the G8 (and I don't blame them, a bunch of capitalists discussing what to do with your country's oil resouces would get up anyone's nose) why didn't they set their bombs off up there??? Okay, they've crippled London's transport system, and Tony Blair is charging down here like a mad bull, but they haven't stopped anything. Was this a threat? A sort of "Hey, we're here, better now screw us over because we'll screw you over"? The casulties are low, darkstars be thanked, only about three confirmed, although they haven't finished digging people out of the wreak that was once King's Cross Station (I wonder how they'll get to Hogwarts now? Sorry, humor is a defence mechanism with me).

Amazed at the capacity for humor in the British news even in the midst of tragedy, the title "a formerly 'double decker' bus-" would make anyone laugh. Mercifully I think there was only one death in that one, although the title was perfectly fitting, the whole roof of the thing and most of the back had been blown off.

Blair blaring out his Bushite speech about not letting the terrorists win this war. What war? How can you wage war on practicly anyone? Three-to-one odds that the terrorists in question were actually hired from Iraq, there were no terrorists before we invaded, and now, well! After that mess I bet they're just queing up to throw bombs at us.

Damn. And now I bet the government is goign to go totally 1984. "We love big brother!" And I'm not talking about the realitly TV show.

I'm relieved you and your folks are alright, dear!

I've just learned about it, and well... It was just yesterday London was proclamed the venue for the next Olimpic Games! But you are right, why didn't they just bomb the high-ups instead of innocent people? It's always the same!

I hope you're not right about 1984ing your country. *crosses fingers* Despite what happened in the USA (they went just paranoid), it didn't happen here when Madrid was also attacked, and it seems that more people died here. It's the perfect excuse to impose 'curfew', but it would be too much. It's already very hard to be aware that you live in a unsafe place, that even though your country is one of the more powerful in the world it can't stop those who want to destroy it.

How unjust...
