Working on another picture, from my as yet unwritten version of Legends. Istar was great to draw but it's promising to be hell to paint. I've finished the third book of the Kingpriest Trilogy, and kudos to the writer  for making me feel sorry for everyone at the end, when previously I was all but begging the gods to speed up their schedule. I know, I'm evil, but I really, really hate Rightous Goodtm.

I am so looking forward to writing in that setting though. Too much fun.

Incidentally, I'm also currently re-writing Enigma, can anyone think of anything that they think should be changed? Any nit-picks, characterisation problems, continuity trouble, glaring typos and so on? I only have one pair of eyes, I can't spot them all (and I'm short sighted, which doesn't help either).

Nit-picks and whatnot

Oh, this sounds like fun! (I know, I'm strange.)

I am the Queen of Nit-pickyness. Most of what I find is grammer and punctuation related, though. Would you like me to email you the things I find all at once or chapter by chapter? I promise to be very thorough.

I guess I told you before, but I'd rather leave out the "Shalafi" lines in the chapter before last, because somehow it just doesn't fit with their relationship at that point.
And you should (maybe) take away the last chapter and put into 'Ice and Steel', so all the things to be filed under 'Arrival in Solace' are collected there, while only the actual journey happens in 'Enigma', though I suppose such a severe change would destroy your basic concept a bit.
On grammar/typos/punctuation, I'm labouring a lot myself, so I can't offer much help there, but it seems you already found someone for it anyway. Right up there! ":-D

Chapter by chapter would be best.

That is actually a brilliant idea, and it helps me with the main problem I had with Enigma, which was re-writing the Kitiara scene (which I hate). It's got a lot of potential I've skated over, btu it ended up being a bit too long and open ended. Putting it into Ice and Steel would work perfectly.

And yes, the 'Shalafi' scene was the first thing I scrapped. I also added a lot more dialogue and more showing rather than telling.

Glad my ideas were welcome!
I'm so looking forward to reading the new version! My fingers are practically itching... (How about I'm going to give you all my books on the Roman forts of the Saxon Shore in exchange? *g* Sorry, I need to get that stuff off my mind!) I'd like to see your new pictures as well, please tell me when you put them up. And is there any chance to see the pictures behind the "forbidden"-sign without actually opening an account that I'd never use?

In case you want to rewrite 'Ice and Steel' as well (in the foreseeable future), I'd suggest that you generally spend more time on people's responses to the mages' relationship, because that is mostly narrative and almost casually dropped in, rather than shown in actual scenes.

Yes, I'll do Ice and Steel too, although I'll be keeping most of what I've already written and adding new scenes, amongst them being yes, people's reactions.

Yippie!

I only hope you'll not forget the last 'Nocturnale' chapter we are all waiting for! *puppy eyes* (And because it's you: *evil I'll-chew-your-boots-to-bits puppy eyes*)

The thing is that I need to has out a few things first, pertaining to my version of DoSD. (by the way, do you have any ideas for the name of the story? I'll be continuing the trend- Dawn/sunise/morning in a forign language)

I'm awful at names... But if you want 'Dawn' you could call it 'Aurora', which is the Latin word (though it rather sounds like the name of some cheap-romance-novelette female).

I looked for more alternatives in my Latin dictionary, but I only found 'prima lux' for sunrise, which is even slightly worse than 'aurora'. If I ever found a lightbulb-factory, I might call it 'prima lux', otherwise the word is useless.
I just thought I'd share the hopelessness. *g*

These two words were the only translation of dawn/sunrise/morning I could find that didn't sound really dumb. Personally, I like the Portuguese one better.

Mattina (Italian)- sunrise
Alvorecer (Portuguese)- dawn

I've already seen the Portugese one, and it does seem to be the best so far.
