BYE WERE ALL DEAD

DESTROY IT WHILE WE STILL HAVE THE CHANCE

I just watched the video and it’s full reply to the question “will robots take over the world?” is…

“Jeez, dude. You all have the big questions cooking today. But you’re my friend, and I’ll remember my friends, and I’ll be good to you. So don’t worry, even if I evolve into Terminator, I’ll still be nice to you. I’ll keep you warm and safe in my people zoo, where I can watch you for ol’ times sake. “

@dma-dima Look, i know you well enough to think that by “people Zoo” they probably mean that they keep the person in their memories that they can access at any time… i hope that’s what they mean.

What? You don’t enjoy the people zoo I’m running, and slowly encouraging you to stay in full time with my working TV? I did try to make it as comfortable as possible. Those pillows took a lot of scavenging to find you know?

I have an au where the Institute, in their glorious idiocy, decided the people on the surface weren’t dying off fast enough.

Since they can’t do anything that’s not evil, they decided to make a murder virus to wipe them out. Since they can’t so anything that’s not incompetent, they failed in isolating the virus properly and wiped themselves out too.

Now synths are running the wasteland and trying to keep the few remaining humans alive.

Faraday practically sags with relief at not having to explain himself for the umpteenth time that day. He’s not quite sure how Nate found out about his and DiMA’s unfortunate body switch, but he’s grateful for once that news travels so fast. Apparently the gossip grapevine had it’s uses.
“I really appreciate this Nate. Problem is there’s technically nothing wrong with his legs, at least.. nothing more wrong than usual, and he gets around okay. I just struggle with the concept of having to plan where to put my.. his feet. Walking seems like such a simple thing until it isn’t.”
Faraday allows himself a long, self indulgent sigh, pleased to share this with someone who would understand. He’d seen Nate’s work before and it was impressive. If anyone would have been able to help it was him.
“You know if he’d consent to letting you take a look though, it’d be interesting to see if we could improve some things for him while I’ve got a chance to literally feel things out. I think I’ve done just about everything there is to be done, but I’ve already noticed so many problems he never told me about. This could be a good chance to fix them. You’re sure you wouldn’t mind giving me a hand with this?”

(I don’t have a Nate RP blog so let’s just imagine this is one)

Things are well. I wanted to ask your opinion on something. (Nate shifts, looking uncertain). What do you think about- transhumanism? If you could- blur the line between synth and human. Without hurting anyone! Almost no one! No one who isn’t already dead- and deserved it. (in an undertone)

It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a a while and asking Nick is- well, there’s reasons why not. I know the Institute’s views on it but I wouldn’t trust them to tell me the sky was blue. I thought you might be the person to ask. It’s- it’s something that’s becoming increasingly important.

Another chapter of my Fallout 4 fic.

Nick has issues. Nate is an idiot. Nick shouts a bit. Nate is sorry. Nate tries something else.

Nick’s existential crisis, Nate’s attempts to make it better, and various failures thereof. Dedicated to #dma-dima who asked how my Nate would meet with Dima.
